VPDC Vegan Permaculture Design Certificate 2017 Australia

March 5, 2017 - March 18, 2017

Our Vegan PDC (Permaculture Design Certificate) is a 2-week intensive course where you will learn traditional permaculture with the vegan philosophy adding a more evolved and proactive content. This course is for anyone who wishes to learn new skills, ideas and ways of thinking that will enable them to personally and professionally change their lives, through growing food productively and designing human spaces to live a more harmonious, compassionate and proactive way that causes the least amount of harm to ourselves, the animals and the planet.

Our Vegan Permaculture Design Certificate (VPDC) fulfils all the requirements of the original PDC but is completely veganised. That means that we teach following the veganism definition as “[… a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.]”

When we start exploring the natural world and eco-systems we learn that nature and other beings do not need humans for anything; they are completely self-sufficient. We can learn to live with a lighter footprint, growing healthy food free from chemicals and exploitation, and provide ourselves with a peace of mind through compassionate living, which I believe is our birthright and evolutionary path. On this course you will learn;

  • Vegan permaculture ethics and principles
  • Patterns in nature and design
  • Climate and microclimates, including different climatic zones (tropics, temperate and arid)
  • Water in the home and the landscape, including slowing, storing and sinking
  • Soils and the foodweb
  • Animals (domestic and wildlife)
  • Social and global alternatives
  • Design planning and processes, including site analysis and assessment
  • Practical design work; one individual and one group
  • Trees, orchards, food forests and natural forests
  • Annual and perennial plants
  • Earthworks planning and processes
  • Sanctuaries planning, design, and evaluations
  • Vegan permaculture livelihoods and where to post VPDC.

We also offer limited on-site accommodation. We are located in the beautiful, subtropical Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. For more information and to secure your place on the course, please visit: www.peaceloveanddragonflies.com.au
