Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary’s Run For The Animals USA

Lace up your sneakers and start hitting the trails because the Poplar Spring Run (or Walk) for the Animals is coming up!

The annual 5K run or fun walk is held at beautiful Wheaton Regional Park.

The run raises vital funds needed to feed and care for the 200+ rescued animals at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary.

Timing chips will be distributed to runners.
Monetary prizes will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers.

Race participants may go the extra mile by raising additional funds online for Poplar Spring. You may even select a picture of a specific Poplar Spring animal to proudly display on your webpage, letting your friends and family know about that animal and others at the sanctuary.

Registration Fee for both the Run and Walk:
Prior to April 17, 2017: $28.00
April 17 – May 20, 2017: $30.00
Race Day: $35

Prizes

Monetary prizes will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. Awards will also be given to the top team, and top male and female finishers in the following age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older. We’re also giving out prizes to our top two fundraisers!

Team Scoring

The winning animal and general teams will be based on the top two finishing male and top two finishing female runners.

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is a 400 acre non-profit refuge for farm animals and wildlife located in Poolesville, Maryland.
